There is just something about putting on your favorite playlist, grabbing a warm drink, and spending a little time coloring that makes the day feel a bit slower.
Whether youโre coloring to relax after a long day or just love creating pretty pages, having the right supplies can make the experience even more enjoyable!
If youโre new to coloring books, donโt worry. You donโt need a huge collection of supplies to get started. Here are some of my favorite cozy coloring essentials to help you create your own little coloring sanctuary. ๐

1. Alcohol Marker Pens
Alcohol markers are a must-have if you love smooth, vibrant colors!
They blend beautifully, making them perfect for coloring outfits, backgrounds, food, and all those cute little details. They also come in different sizes, from fine tips for smaller details to broad tips for filling larger spaces.
Beginner tip: Start with a smaller set of colors you love, then build your collection over time.
2. Gel Pens for the Little Details
Gel pens are perfect for adding tiny finishing touches to your coloring pages. Think sparkly accessories, jewelry, little patterns, and cute decorative details. I love having a few metallic, glitter, and pastel shades nearby to make my pages feel extra special.
3. An Acrylic White Pencil
If you love adding highlights, this one is worth having! A white acrylic pencil can help brighten small areas, add little details to clothing, or create that finishing touch on accessories and illustrations. It’s especially handy when you want certain details to stand out against darker colors.
4. Skin Tone Alcohol Markers
If you enjoy coloring people, a good skin tone marker set is a lovely addition to your collection. Look for a range of shades so you can create different skin tones, add dimension, and experiment with shadows and highlights.
You don’t need dozens of shades to start. Even a small, thoughtfully chosen collection can give you plenty of room to experiment!
5. A Bamboo Marker Organizer
Let’s talk about keeping those markers neat! A bamboo marker organizer is both practical and pretty, especially if you love that natural, minimalist desk aesthetic. It keeps your favorite colors within reach and makes your coloring space feel a little more put together.
Bonus points if you organize your markers by color family. It makes finding the perfect shade so much easier!
6. A Silicone Coloring Mat
If you’re using alcohol markers, a silicone mat is a great addition to your setup. It provides a protective surface underneath your coloring page and helps keep your desk safe from stray marks and spills.
Just remember to check your coloring book’s paper and test your markers first, since alcohol ink can bleed through pages.
7. A Desk Pen Organizer
For all those gel pens, pencils, fineliners, and other little supplies, a desk pen organizer is a lifesaver. Instead of digging through a messy drawer every five minutes, you’ll have everything right where you need it.
Choose one with separate compartments so your supplies stay organized without taking up too much desk space.
8. A Rolling Cart Organizer
If your coloring collection is slowly taking over your desk (it happens!), a rolling cart might be exactly what you need.
Use the different shelves for markers, coloring books, extra supplies, and even your favorite drinks or snacks. I love the idea of having a little mobile coloring station that you can move wherever you feel like coloring that day.
9. Cozy Coloring Books
Of course, you need something cute to color! Cozy coloring books are perfect for slow evenings, creative breaks, or those days when you just want to unplug for a little while.
Two of my favorites are Coco Wyo and Paddock Besties, my very own coloring book brand!
I love coloring pages with cute characters, fun outfits, everyday moments, and little scenes that let you get creative with your favorite colors.
Whether you’re into cozy home scenes or have a soft spot for motorsport-inspired coloring adventures, there’s something so satisfying about bringing a black-and-white page to life.
Creating Your Own Cozy Coloring Corner โ๐ท
The best part about coloring is that you really don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy it. Start with a coloring book, a few markers, and some basic supplies. Add organizers and extra pens as your collection grows.
Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee, put on some relaxing music, and give yourself permission to enjoy the process without worrying about making every page perfect.
After all, coloring is supposed to be fun!
Happy coloring, besties! ๐
